WWF China Annual Report 2006

There can be no better illustration of this than the Gift of the Earth, WWF's highest accolade for large-scale conservation, which was awarded to the Sichuan and Gansu provincial governments in October 2006 for their commitment to protecting over 1.5 million hectares of land, thus ensuring protection for over half of the world's wild Pandas.

Looking back, WWF is enormously grateful for the strong and consideration support from all of our government partners at all levels, from the State Forest Administration, the State Environmental Protection Administration and the Ministry of Water Resources, to provincial and local partners working with us on the ground. We also recognise the invaluable support of our corporate partners like HSBC. Without their support, our conservation pursuits would be impossible.
