Volunteering for WWF-China

WWF China has very active regional volunteer groups in 10 cities around China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Wuhan, Chengdu, Tianjin, Nanjing, Chongqing, Changsha, and Xinjiang province. Our volunteers regularly initiate, co-ordinate and manage WWF volunteer activities to help raise awareness of WWF's mission to:

  • Preserve the variety of plants and animals and the ecosystems of which they are a part Ensure that we use our natural resources cautiously, with an eye on the future
  • Show communities ways to reduce pollution and wasteful consumption
  • WWF China always warmly welcomes individual volunteers who can mainly help us in the following areas:
Volunteers who can translate reports, press releases, and other documents from English to Chinese and/or Chinese to English

Experienced English-language editors who can help edit and polish English-language documents

If you can volunteer for us in any of these areas, please send an email to chinaweb@wwfchina.org.

WWF China is able to take on field volunteers on a very limited basis. Field volunteers are required to speak fluent Mandarin Chinese. If you are interested in volunteering for WWF China in the field, please send your resume and cover letter detailing specifically what type of work you are interested in doing. WWF will only respond to volunteers if a suitable placement is available.

If you live outside of China, the best avenue is to contact the office closest to you to find out what type of volunteer work is available. Please take a look at our global list of office.
